Saint Laurent is ideally located between Carcassonne and Narbonne, with its cathedral and beaches. A few minutes away, the listed medieval village and abbey of Lagrasse can be visited as well as the Fontfroide or Caunes Minervois abbeys. Strolls along the Canal du Midi in the medieval city of Carcassonne or a visit of the numerous Cathar castles of the region are also enjoyable. The region’s flora and fauna is rich, and the land offers Mediterranean vegetation including wild thyme, lavender and rosemary; eagles, hawks, buzzards, hares and rabbits can be seen along rocks or vineyards. The Corbieres country is famous for its quality production of wines (red, white and rose) since 1985 when it was granted the Appellation d’origine controllee (controlled term of origin), but the vine culture in this region date back to the Romans and is practically the only farming activity on account of the soil aridity. Access:
Saint Benoit is a commune of the Aude department in the Languedoc Roussillon region of the southern France.

By car: Narbonne is 27 minutes away by the D613 and the D6113. Carcassonne is 35 minutes away, by the D106 and the A61. 45 minutes from Beziers and 55 minutes from Perpignan.

By train: by the Eurostar it only takes two and a half hour from London to get to Paris. Then from Paris, regular trains depart to Narbonne and Carcassonne.

By plane: Low cost flights are available from England to Perpignan and Carcassonne. International Rivesaltes-Perpignan airport is located 55 minutes from Saint Laurent, and Carcassonne airport is only 35 minutes away.
